Exhibition | TÁVORA. Architetture, Paesaggi, Genealogie
On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Fernando Távora (1923–2005), a central figure in the Porto School and teacher of Álvaro Siza Vieira and Eduardo Souto de Moura, the Mantova Campus of the Politecnico di Milano presents an exhibition dedicated to his teaching and architectural legacy. The exhibition, curated by the Távora Laboratory with the participation of teachers, researchers, and students, features drawings, three-dimensional models, and archival materials that illustrate the connection between architecture, landscape, and tradition. The exhibition is further enriched by photographs by Alessandra Chemollo, taken from the Versione Ridotta project.
The initiative will be accompanied by the publication of the book TÁVORA. Architetture, Paesaggi, Genealogie (Biblion, Milan), edited by Barbara Bogoni and Marco Cillis, with contributions from Italian and Portuguese scholars.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., with a presentation of the book and an introductory lecture on the Portuguese master, at Villa del Bene in Volargne (Verona).
The exhibition will be open to the public from October 24 to December 14, 2025, every Sunday afternoon during the villa's opening hours (with guided tour) or by appointment at 3792190186.
